Little Shop Blues

I was sitting in a tea shop
Seeing faces in my cup
Paranoia, paranoia
Paranoia all around

I was thinking of my lady
My lady lying in my bed
I was thinking – time for leaving
Losing thoughts inside my head

Here comes chaos like a freight train
A freight train rushing on the rails
Hear my heartbeat in the silence
Hear my heartbeat – hear it fail

The world is turning like an apple
An apple spinning through the night
I can’t see you, my eyes are clouding
As I turn my face to the light

It’s so long since I spoke to you
It’s so long since I was sane
I was talking to my mirror
To try to help me ease the pain

I saw Martians in my bedroom
They were dancing round and round
Tigers stalking in the hallway
Killing mice without a sound

Blood was flowing from the bathtaps
The flood was rising up and up
And I was sitting in a tea shop
Seeing faces in my cup
