Review of Radio Silence
No Cure fanzine (issue 2)
The Instant Automatons are a South Humberside band who were formed in mid-77. The group then consisted of Martin Neish and Mark Lancaster. The group’s sound is very original and for that alone they deserve praise, but more than that they offer an alternative.
Martin: "For too long musicians have sold their albums for far too much and then complained about the tax…"
So the Automatons have gone the other way. They are actually giving their brilliant debut album called Radio Silence away. Yeah, that’s right FREE.
The first time I heard the album I wasn’t too sure what to make of it, but after 3 or 4 listening its full impact hit me. The honest truth is that Radio Silence is excellent. The version of Waiting For The Man is especially good.
